Using Ant scripts to automate builds and deployment

If you want to automate the builds and deployment of your applications, you can use Ant scripts to invoke the headless (command line) batch processing environments of either IBM® Integration Designer or IBM Process Server. These headless environments are used exclusively to perform batch processing of Integration Designer modules. You cannot use these headless environments to deploy modules contained in process applications or toolkits to either a IBM Process Center server or a process server on Process Center.

About this task

Unless you have a specific reason for using the batch processing environment of Integration Designer (such as the specialized runAntWID.bat file that is provided with Integration Designer), it is generally recommended that you use the batch processing environment of Process Server to gain access to standard tools like serviceDeploy and wsadmin. However, there are a couple of limitations to using the batch processing environment of Process Server, which are described in the topic "Limitations of batch testing in headless Process Server."

Detailed information about using Ant scripts for automating builds and deployment is found in "Automating tests using Ant scripts" and its subtopics.
