Getting server usage metrics by using IBM Cloud Product Insights

You can access dashboards for various server usage information for your IBM® Business Process Manager instances by using the IBM Cloud Product Insights service.
When configured, your on-premises instances report the following usage metrics to the Cloud Product Insights service:
  • Concurrent Users
  • Started BPD Instances
  • Completed BPD Instances
  • Started BPEL Instances
  • Completed BPEL Instances

Before you begin

To register your IBM BPM instances, with Product Insights, you need a Bluemix user ID. If you do not have a Bluemix account, you can register free at https://console.ng.bluemix.net/registration/.

Procedure

  1. Log into your Bluemix account at http://bluemix.net.
  2. Go to your dashboard by clicking Dashboard.
  3. If you do not have an instance of the Product Insights service, create one:
    1. Select an existing space, or click Create a Space to create a new space.
    2. Click Catalog then Services > Integrate, select Product Insights.
  4. To register an IBM Business Process Manager instance with Cloud Product Insights, perform the actions described in Getting started with Product Insights.
  5. To verify that the registration was successful. Check the SystemOut.log file for the following messages:
    ... RegisterTask  I   CWWKR0400I: The server was registered with the IBM Cloud Product Insights service on the specified URL https://productinsights-api.ng.bluemix.net.
    ... BPMProductExt I   CWMRC0001I: The IBM Cloud Product Insights service has started.
    ... ProductInsigh I   CWMRC0002I: The IBM Cloud Product Insights service is listening for IBM Business Process Manager events.
    ... BpmProductIns I   CWMRC0005I: BPM Cloud Product Insights is listening for user logins.

Results

Your IBM BPM is configured to report server metrics periodically to the Cloud Product Insights service, which makes your server metrics available on convenient dashboards.
