Associating entry templates with folders

Associating an entry template with a folder enables control of what content can be added to a folder, which folder is used as the storage location for documents, how users use entry templates, and which entry template is used for particular content file types.

Before you begin

Ensure that entry template management is enabled and that you have the following add-ons installed:
  • Workplace Templates Extensions
  • Workplace XT Extensions
Important: These plug-ins are a general IBM Content Navigator requirement. Even if Workplace XT or IBM Content Navigator entry templates are not used, these plug-ins must be installed.

Procedure

  1. Open the Properties dialog for the folder.
  2. In the Associate Entry Templates tab, select Create new associations for this folder.
    • Review the Selected Entry Templates list.
Remember: The Selected Entry Templates list displays the entry templates that are associated with the folder that are visible. Removing an entry template from this list adds it to the Available Entry Templates list.
    • Associate an entry template with the folder by selecting the entry template from the Available Entry Templates list and selecting the Add button.
  3. Select the entry template in the Selected Entry Templates list and click Modify.
  4. Choose Folder Association Settings
From this menu, you can set file type restrictions on an entry template. A file type restriction limits the MIME types that are allowed in the folder.
