You can install a new version of IBM®
Cognos® Analytics over
your current, running version of the product without overwriting configuration settings from the
previous version.
Files to be preserved during an upgrade are listed in the
install_location\configuration\preserve\.ca_base_preserve.txt
file. Do not edit this file. Instead, edit the
install_location\configuration\preserve\preserve.txt file if
you want to remove or preserve certain files or directories when upgrading. Instructions about using
preserve.txt are included in the file itself.
Tip: Hard or soft links created by customers within the Cognos
Analytics
file structure are not supported.
By default, the following folders and files are preserved when upgrading Cognos
