Exploring the IBM Streams Commodity Purchasing sample application

The Commodity Purchasing sample application is designed to be a learning tool. It is a complete end-to-end example of a stream processing application that runs against live data and provides a user interface.

Before you begin

To use the Commodity Purchasing sample application, ensure that your system satisfies the following requirements:
  • IBM® Streams is installed and configured.
  • A minimum of 2 GB of memory is available.
  • An X Window System is installed.
  • The xterm and libcurl-devel RPMs in the operating system package are installed.
  • The Mozilla Firefox web browser is installed.
  • The system has access to the public Internet.
