Adjusting application resources at run time
You can increase the number of application resources that are allocated to a job while the job is running.
Before you begin
To adjust resources, you must have submitted this job or you must have add and
delete authority for the appropriate jobgroup_name instance object.
Restrictions:
- Application resources can be used by only a single instance at a time.
- An application resource can be used only for the specified purpose in the domain, as indicated by its tag.
- The resource must be available exclusively for the specified purposed. For example, if a resource is tagged as a management resource as well as an application resource, it won't be available for dynamic resource allocation.
About this task
You can increase the resources only if you also increase the width of one or more parallel regions in the job. For more information about how to change the degree of parallelism and at the same time change adjusting the available resources, see Changing the degree of parallelism at run time.
