Command reference: Apache Edgent integration with IBM Streams
Streamtool is the IBM®
Streams command-line interface. You can use a set of streamtool commands to configure the Apache Edgent integration with IBM
Streams.
With these streamtool commands for Apache Edgent integration, IBM Streams administrators can create, access, modify, and delete secure application configuration objects.

Streams can be grouped into the following logical categories:
- Application configuration commands
- You can use the following commands to manage application configuration objects.
- mkappconfig: Creates the application configuration object.
- lsappconfig: Lists the application configuration objects.
- getappconfig:Displays the properties of a configuration that enables connection to an external application.
- rmappconfig: Deletes the application configuration object.
- chappconfig: Changes or adds to the properties stored in the application configuration object.
- Device management commands
- You can use the following commands to manage the connection to the device management service.
- lsdevices: Lists edge tier devices supported by the device management service.
- lsdevicetypes: Lists the device types known by the device management service.
- submitdevicecommand: Submits a command to the Apache Edgent container running on the edge tier device.
- lsdevicecommands: Lists the commands IBM Streams has submitted to a specific device type.
- cleardevicecommands: Clears the list of commands that have been submitted to a specific device type, or all device types for an appconfig.
- geturl: Use the deviceapi parameter to retrieve the base REST URL of the device management service.
