Configuring panel or tab information

You can configure or hide several types of information in panels or tabs of the Work Centers.

About this task

The records that are displayed in the six work panels in the Work Execution Work Center and the four tabs in the Work Supervision Work Center are derived from queries. You can edit the applied query for a panel or tab to show different record results. For example, you can configure a panel in the Work Execution Work Center to show only emergency work orders that are due within the next four hours.

The product is delivered with each panel and tab configured with an object structure query and REST query. If you configure a panel or tab to use different queries or types of queries and save the change, the default information is removed. You can retrieve copies of the default queries by clicking Get help and reviewing the REST query document.

Procedure

  1. In the Work Execution or Work Supervision Work Center, click Edit to enter Design mode.
You can make any of the following changes:
    • Hide or show the display of a panel or tab by setting Display to Off or On. If a panel or tab is hidden, a strikethrough mark is shown on the label text in Design mode. If the change is published, the other panels or tabs resize to take more space.
    • Edit the panel or tab name. A name is required, even if the panel or tab is hidden.
    • Edit the query that selects the content that is shown in a panel or tab. A help document that contains examples is available for these queries by selecting Get Help.

Select one the following queries or combination of queries:

      Object structure query
Displays content from the object structure that is applicable to a user of this Work Center. You can select a different query from the list.
      Saved query
Select from a public query for work orders, including queries for the Quick Reporting application. To view more information about a public query, click Launch to open the associated application. Then, view public queries on the List tab.
      REST query
Retrieves and filters records based on parameters that you specify. You can test the REST query before you save it.
      Object structure and REST query
A combination of the object structure query and the REST query. You can test the REST query before you save it.
      Saved and REST query
A combination of the Saved and the REST query. You can test the REST query before you save it.
  2. Save your changes.
