Processing options

You can use the following group of options to configure processing properties of IMS ETO Support operation.

Reserved MFS MID/MOD names
IMS ETO Support performs special processing for SLU2/3270 devices when you specify the reserved MFS MID/MOD names for signon.
Mask characters to name control blocks
Mask characters provide another option for naming ETO terminal-related control blocks.
IMS processing options set in the initialization exit (DFSINTX0)
During restart, the IMS initialization exit (DFSINTX0) lets you specify certain IMS processing characteristics.
Table search sequence
When setting processing options for ETO devices, IMS ETO Support uses the value from the first matching table entry.
User ID suffixing options
By using user ID suffixing options, you can establish multiple sessions with an IMS environment by using a single user ID. IMS ETO Support does this by adding a 1- to 3-character suffix to the user ID to generate a name that is unique in that IMS environment.

Select options to control how IMS ETO Support processes VTAM® user data.
Open Transaction Manager Access (OTMA) options
Open Transaction Manager Access (OTMA) options is a transaction-based, connectionless client/server protocol. Its implementation is specific to IMS in a sysplex environment.
Creating dynamic LTERM (printers and remote CNTs)
When an attempt is made to insert a message to an unknown LTERM, IMS ETO Support decides if IMS should allow the LTERM to be created. One of the tables IMS ETO Support uses for this decision is the LTERM NAMES table.
Remapping printer LTERM names
IMS ETO Support provides the REPLACEMENT STRING option for each printer LTERM entry. By using this option, you can enable IMS ETO Support to intercept DL/I calls to IMS and to redirect only the messages for certain LTERMs to different LTERMs. To avoid degrading the performance, this function is enabled at IMS startup only if a value is specified in the REPLACEMENT STRING field for one or more printer LTERM entries.
Preventing control block creation for specific LTERM names
When using mask characters as wildcards in the LTERM NAMES table, there might be cases where a name matches the mask character pattern but you do not want the LTERM to be created. To prevent an unwanted LTERM from being created, define the LTERM name in the LTERM NAME table and specify IZTFAIL in the MSNAME field.
Managing the IMS dependent region security environment (DFSBSEX0)
IMS provides an optional user exit (DFSBSEX0) that is used to determine how to build the security environment in an IMS dependent region for certain call types. IMS ETO Support provides a version of this exit that eliminates the need to code and maintain your own exit.
