Sending an Android Enterprise migration request from the MaaS360® Portal

As an administrator, you can send a migration request to a single device or a group of devices to enforce Android Enterprise (Profile Owner mode) on those devices.

Prerequisites

The administrator account must have the following access rights to perform this task:
Access right Permission required
Wipe Device Grant
Device View - Read-only Deny
About migration request
  • Once you send an Android Enterprise (AE) migration request to a device, device users must initiate the migration within 90 days of receiving the request.
  • You cannot reset the 90-day timer after sending a migration request.
  • If you send a subsequent migration request to the same device before the 90 days have elapsed, the first migration request will still be in effect.
  • Devices will become non-compliant if users do not initiate the migration to Android Enterprise (Profile Owner mode) within 90 days of receiving the request.
  • MaaS360 automatically enforces compliance policies by implementing pre-configured enforcement actions when devices are out of compliance. These enforcement actions can be found in the Security > Policies > Android Enterprise Settings > Device Management > Enforcement Actions > Action When Out of Compliance.
