Registering a CMS

You can select a content management system (CMS) to use with Acoustic Personalization to be able to use external content, such as images, in your personalization.

You can either select a previously configured CMS or register a new one. You can register a CMS using two ways.
  • You can register a CMS when you register a new channel.
  • You can also register a CMS directly, without creating a new channel.

Registering a CMS when you register a new channel

When you access Acoustic Personalization for the first time, the Zones page directs you to Register a channel page. Alternatively, you can also access it from Acoustic Personalization > Settings > Channel > Register channel.
  1. Click Register a channel.
  2. In the New Channel screen, provide the required details such as channel name, type of channel and the channel URL.
  3. Click Create. The new channel is created and details that you provided are displayed in the Channel properties section.
  4. In the CMS registration section, click Register a new CMS.
  5. In the Register a new CMS window, enter the mandatory information and click Register.

Registering a CMS directly without creating a new channel

  1. Log in to Acoustic Personalization.
  2. From the menu, click Acoustic Personalization and then click Settings.
  3. In the Settings menu, click Content management and then Register a new CMS.

Selecting a previously configured CMS

In the CMS registration section, select the appropriate option from the Select CMS list and then click Save.

Adding a new CMS

  1. In the CMS registration section, click Register a new CMS link.
  2. Type the name of the new CMS.
  3. Select the source CMS from the list.
    • If you are using Acoustic Content, select Acoustic Content from the list. Enter the API URL of the CMS in the API URL field.
      Note:
      • The API URL must begin with HTTPS. URLs that begin with any other protocols (such as HTTP) are not supported.
      • The API URL must contain digitalexperience.ibm.com/api/
      Append the following string to your CH API URL: /delivery/v1/search?q=*:*

      For example: If your CH API URL is https://digitalexperience.ibm.com/api/1b54d8fb-d474-494a-a75a-4a51235188ff then in the API URL field you should have https://digitalexperience.ibm.com/api/1b54d8fb-d474-494a-a75a-4a51235188ff/delivery/v1/search?q=*:*

      Click Validate URL to verify a successful connection with the selected CMS.
    • If you are not using Acoustic Content, select Other.
  4. Click Register.
The new CMS is added to the list and is available for use in Acoustic Personalization.

Accessing the CMS page

You can delete a content management system (CMS) which is no longer required to be used in Acoustic Personalization. You can also update the name of the content management system and its type.

To access the CMS page, complete the steps
  1. Log in to Acoustic Personalization.
  2. In the Settings menu, click Content management.The content management systems that are registered within your organization are displayed on the page.

    You can click the View details icon from the actions menu to view details of the content management system. Click the column headers to sort the columns in ascending or descending order.

Note: You cannot update or delete the content management system that is used in any of channel tenants.

Editing a CMS

Ensure that you are on the CMS listing page. The content management systems that are registered within your organization are displayed on the page.

  1. Click edit icon of the CMS. In the Edit CMS window, you can edit the CMS name and content management system. If you select Acoustic Content as your CMS, then you can enter the API URL of the CMS.
  2. Click Save.

Deleting a CMS

To delete the CMS, complete the steps:

Ensure that you are on the CMS listing page. The content management systems that are registered within your organization are displayed on the page.

  1. Click delete icon of the CMS that you want delete. Confirmation pop-up window opens.
  2. To delete, click Delete.The CMS is deleted.
