Upgrading an existing Db2 for z/OS repository database

You will need to perform certain steps to successfully migrate an existing Db2® for z/OS® repository database to a new or upgraded version of IBM® Data Server Manager (DSM)

About this task

While a Db2 repository database, residing on a Linux, UNIX, or Windows server, is upgraded automatically when updating your DSM V2.1.3 or newer environment to the latest release, additional steps are required when your repository database resides on a Db2 for z/OS server.

Procedure

To migrate an existing DSM repository database from a Db2 for z/OS server:

  1. Update your existing DSM installation.
  2. Log into DSM and go to Settings > Product Setup.
  3. From the Repository Database Configuration Page, click Edit.
  4. Click Download migration DDLs, to download the migration DDL for the repository.
  5. Execute the migration DDL on the repository subsystem.
  6. (optional) After executing migration DDL statements, navigate to the /samples/DB2Z folder of your DSM installation folder, and then locate and run validate.sql, to ensure that all the repository tables are created.
  7. Log out of DSM, log back in, and return to the Repository Database Configuration page.
  8. Click the Download migration DDLs button. You should see the following message:
    //*Repository migration test passed.
