Upgrading to Rational Performance Tester V8.3
When upgrading to Rational Performance Tester V8.3, you need to first export your scripts and then uninstall the existing version of Rational Performance Tester.
If you are upgrading Rational Performance Tester to version
8.3 to work with ITCAM for Transactions version
7.4, follow this general procedure:
- Export your existing Rational Performance Tester scripts so they can be later imported into Rational Performance Tester version 8.3. When you do this task, be sure to select the option, Test Assets with Dependencies. See Copying test assets with dependencies for more information.
- Uninstall the existing version of Rational Performance Tester using the Windows Add/Remove Programs control panel or IBM Installation Manager.
- Remove Rational Performance Tester directories, properties and registry entries. See Uninstalling Rational Performance Tester demonstration for further information.
- Install Rational Performance Tester V8.3 Setup,
Core, and Agent Controller using the launchpad. Ensure the following:
- Do not install the IBM Rational License Key Administrator package at this time. Install it later with Rational Integration Support.
- On the Features page, in the Features list:
- Select IBM Rational Performance Tester Agent and IBM Rational Performance Tester Extension for SOA Quality
- Select Show dependencies.
- Install the Rational Integration Support package, which installs a Rational Performance Tester licence key, fixes, and ITCAM for Transactions integration plugin for exporting scripts to the Application Management Console. See Download information in the Information Center for image numbers.
- Restart the current workstation or server.
- Run IBM Installation Manager and on the Manage Licenses page, ensure that Rational Performance Tester has been granted a permanent license.
- Run Rational Performance Tester, import your scripts into Rational Performance Tester V8.3 and test the scripts. See Copying test assets with dependencies for more information.
- Export the scripts from Rational Performance Tester V8.3 to ITCAM for Transactions. See Exporting Rational Performance Tester scripts in the Administrator's Guide for further information.
