Getting started with Monitor this for users

The getting started with Monitor this for users workflow outlines the high-level steps to use the Monitor This option. The Monitor this option assists you in setting up monitoring based on a transaction in the Completed File Transfers list and the Completed Processes list in the web console.

If you want to set up monitoring, click a transaction in the Completed File Transfers list or the Completed Processes list in the web console and click Monitor this.

If you do not have permission to create IBM® Control Center objects, a New Monitor This Submit Request page opens that is populated with information from the transaction you chose. Edit values as needed and submit the request. If your email address is in the IBM Control Center configuration, it is populated in the New Monitor This Submit Requestpage so that you can receive a copy of the email request. Otherwise, you can type your email address in the request form that is sent to the administrator before you submit it.

If you have permission to manage IBM Control Center objects and want to set up monitoring, click a transaction in the Completed File Transfers list or the Completed Processes list in the web console. Then, click Monitor this and select one of the following options: For success or failure, For missed start time, For missed end time, or For excessive time to complete. Based on the option you choose, either the Create a New Rule page or Create a New Simple SLC page opens populated with information from the transaction. You can edit the form as needed to specify monitoring criteria for future transactions and create the necessary objects such as: rules, SLCs, calendars, schedules, and actions.
