Installing the 8005-12N system

Learn about how to install, cable, and set up your 8005-12N system.

This section describes, at a high level, the tasks you must perform when you install and configure your 8005-12N system.

To install and configure your system, complete the following high-level tasks:
  1. Install the system into your rack.
  2. Connect your network cables. To connect your system to the network, complete the following tasks:
    1. Identify the IPMI port on the rear of the system and connect a cable from this port into your network.
    2. Identify at least any two other network ports. These nodes have 4x 10GbE RJ45 ports and 4x 10GbE SFP+ to choose from. They will all be logically grouped together, within Nutanix AHV.
    3. Plug your cables into the appropriate switch, making sure that the ports are all in the same logical network segment.
  3. Connect the power cables to the power supplies and to the power source.
  4. Power on.
    Note: You can power on the nodes in any order.
  5. Attach the workstation and create clusters.
