The DS8000® series
offers various choices of base and expansion models, so you can configure
storage units that meet your performance and configuration needs.
- DS8100
- The DS8100 (Models 921 and 931) features a dual
two-way processor complex and support for one expansion model.
- DS8300
- The DS8300 (Models 922, 932, 9A2, and 9B2) features a
dual four-way processor complex and support for up to four expansion
models. Models 9A2 and 9B2 support two IBM® System Storage® System logical partitions
(LPARs) in one storage unit.
- DS8700
- The DS8700 (Model 941) provides the option of a dual two-way processor
complex (feature code 4301) or dual-four way processor complex (feature
code 4302). A dual four-way processor complex provides support for
up to four expansion models (94E). (Dual LPAR support is not available
for the DS8700.)
- DS8800
- The DS8800 introduced the
high-density storage enclosure that supports 24 small form factor
2.5" SAS drives in a 2U (height) factor.
The DS8800 (Model 951)
provides the option of a dual two-way processor complex or dual-four
way processor complex. A dual four-way processor complex provides
support for up to three expansion models (95E).
- DS8870
- The DS8870 is the latest and most advanced disk enterprise storage
system in the DS8000 series.
It represents the latest in the series of high-performance and high-capacity
disk storage systems. The DS8870 uses IBM POWER7® processor technology to
help support higher performance.
The DS8870 (Model 961) provides
the option of a 2-core, 4-core, 8-core, or 16-core processor complex.
The DS8870 supports up to three expansion models (96E).
