Configuring PowerVM with IVM
Use the Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM) to configure PowerVM® features and the managed system.

When you install the Virtual I/O Server (VIOS) on a supported server with no Hardware Management Console (HMC) attached to the server, the Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM) is enabled on that server. You can then use the IVM to configure the managed system through the VIOS. IVM is only supported up to POWER8® processor-based servers, or earlier. - Entering the activation code for PowerVM Editions with the Integrated Virtualization Manager
