Installing the 5147-024, ESLL, or ESLS storage enclosure into a rack
To install the 5147-024, ESLL, or ESLS storage enclosure into a rack, complete the steps in this procedure. In addition to related safety information, illustrations of the related hardware components are provided.
Important: Two people
are required to safely lift the enclosure. Using fewer than two people
to lift the enclosure can result in injury.
- Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap attached. If not, attach it now.
- Remove the left side cover (A) and
right side cover (B) to show the mounting brackets.
Pinch the release to rotate the cover up and off from the chassis
flange as shown in Figure 1.Figure 1. Removing the side covers
- Using two people, lift
the enclosure and position it over the front of the rails.Attention: Two people are required to safely lift the enclosure. Using fewer than two people to lift the enclosure can result in injury.
- Slide the enclosure
into the rack cabinet. Ensure that the rear guide on the enclosure
is seated in the enclosure stop on the support rail.Figure 2. Sliding the enclosure into the rack
- Secure the front of the enclosure
to the rack flanges with one M5 screw (C) in
