Accelerate license on IBM XIV Gen3 systems
IBM
Spectrum Accelerate storage capacity can be licensed on IBM® XIV® Gen3
systems in order to enable early shipment of newly acquired IBM XIV Gen3
systems.
When such licensing model is used, it is defined at the factory
level based on the intended capacity of the IBM XIV Gen3
storage system, and must be converted to regular XIV Gen3 licensing prior to making the storage
system fully operational.
Note: Although IBM Spectrum Accelerate storage
capacity can be licensed on IBM XIV Gen3 systems, IBM Spectrum Accelerate cannot
be used on IBM XIV Gen3 storage systems, as it is designed to
be deployed on VMware ESXi servers and on customer-provided hardware
of choice.
The licensing of IBM
Spectrum Accelerate on IBM XIV Gen3 systems is labeled as 'HW

When IBM Spectrum
Accelerate is licensed in the regular manner (not on an XIV Gen3 system), it is labeled
as 'Spectrum Accelerate':
