Provisioning cloud hosts dynamically

Host factory provides a built-in requestor instance symAinst which can be configured to dynamically provision hosts from the cloud when resource demand peaks in your cluster.

1. Configure a requestor instance for dynamic provisioning

Enable the requestor instance (for example, the built-in symAinst), and configure applications that must be monitored for cloud bursting and the policies that determine scale-out requests for additional hosts and scale-in requests to return cloud hosts. See Configuring the symAinst requestor instance for dynamic provisioning.

2. Start the HostFactory service

Start the HostFactory service; see Starting host factory for cloud bursting. Then, submit workload; see Submitting workload for cloud-enabled applications.

3. Monitor your cluster

Monitor your cluster for scale-out and scale-in requests. See Monitoring cloud bursting in your cluster.
