After you install your suite component, you must create
a data source name (DSN) for the analysis database (IADB) and for
each source database that you want to use. The DSN for the analysis
database and the source database must be created on the computer on
which the parallel processing engine is installed.
Before you begin
You must have suite administrator authority. For IBM® InfoSphere® Information Analyzer, you must have InfoSphere Information Analyzer Data Administrator authority.
About this task
You must create a DSN for the Information Analyzer database
(IADB) and one or more DSNs for the data sources that you will use.
Procedure
- From the Microsoft Windows Start menu, click .
- Click the System DSN tab and click Add.
- Select the driver that corresponds to your database (for
example, Oracle, DB2®, SQL Server)
and click Finish.
- In the Data source name field, type
a data source name.
- Select the same data source name, that you just typed,
from the list to register for ODBC. Click OK.
- Select the row containing the data source name that you
just created and click Configure.
- Type the database user name and password for your computer.
- Click Connect. The following message
is displayed: Connection tested successfully.
- Click OK on all of the open Control
Panel windows.
