Deleting a table from the analysis database

You can delete a reference table or a table that was generated during analysis from the analysis database (IADB). You can also delete user-named output tables and execution output tables for data rules from the IADB.

About this task

If a frequency distribution table is deleted, you can no longer view any details for the associated column, such as the frequency distribution, domain, or format analyses results.

For data rules, you can remove the execution output tables from the IADB in two different workspaces in the console. You can purge execution output tables from the Data Quality workspace, or you can delete execution output tables from the Table Management workspace.

Procedure

  1. On the Investigate navigator menu in the console, select Table Management.
  2. In the Table Management workspace, select the table that you want to delete.
  3. In the Tasks pane, click Delete.
  4. In the confirmation window, select one of the following options:
    • To delete the table from the IADB and the table metadata, click Yes.
    • To delete only the table metadata, click No.
    • To do nothing (keep the table and the metadata), click Cancel.
