Develop with IBM InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog REST API

IBM® InfoSphere® Information Governance Catalog REST API allows client applications to access catalog content.

InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog REST API includes support that enables client applications to access and author catalog content. You can integrate your catalog content into other software tools and portals.

InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog REST API enforces security roles, workflow, and viewing permissions just like the IBM InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog user interface. However, when you enable workflow, you can assign workflow roles to users only by using user interface. Note that when workflow is enabled, a glossary asset in the glossary development has a different RID (reference identifier) than the same asset in the published catalog.

Catalog administration tasks such as setting catalog permissions, creating custom attributes, and setting term history are handled only in the user interface.

You can try the command to check its output. The command results and error messages, if any, are shown in the Response Body area below the Request URL command.

You can access InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog REST API at this URL: https://host_server:port_number/ibm/iis/igc-rest-explorer

The value of host_server:port_number is the host name and post number where InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog is installed.
