IBM InfoSphere DataStage
Match Designer
Use the Match Designer to create match specifications. Match specifications form the basis for match stages that run as steps within data quality analysis jobs.
The Match Designer is a tool for performing the iterative process of defining a match, testing it against sample data, viewing results and statistics, and then fine-tuning the match.
- QualityStage Match Designer Compose tab
When you choose New > Data Quality > Match Specification from the Repository, the Compose tab opens. - QualityStage Match Designer Total Statistics page
If you are running consecutive passes, you can evaluate each pass individually and also evaluate the combined results by viewing the Total Statistics tab. - QualityStage Match Designer: Pass Definition tab
In the Pass Definition tab, you create a match pass by defining the Blocking Columns, Match Commands, and Cutoff Values. - QualityStage Match Designer: Pass Statistics tab
Displays lists of data that you can organize in a chart. - QualityStage Match Designer Match Pass Holding area
The Match Pass Holding area lets you store passes that you are not currently using in the flow of a Match specification. Passes in the Holding area from a match specification in Two-source, One-source, or Frequency Matches are ignored. - QualityStage Match Designer Test Environment window
Before you can run test match passes, you must define the test environment and optionally configure special handling settings for the match specification. - QualityStage Match Designer Match Blocking Specification Window
The Match Blocking Specification window lets you specify a blocking column and comparison type for a match pass. - QualityStage Match Designer: Results Display window
Available for two-source matches only, in the Results Display window, you can create user-defined alignments of data source and reference source columns to display in the Test Results area of the Pass Definition tab when you are testing match passes. - QualityStage Match Designer: Match Command window
Use the Match Command window to specify the way that IBM® InfoSphere® QualityStage® evaluates the similarity of selected data values. Match Commands identify the data columns, comparison types, and optional weight overrides that comprise a match pass. - QualityStage Match Designer: Pass Definition tab test results area
The test results area of the Pass Definition tab becomes available for each match pass after you have run a test of the pass. - QualityStage Match Designer: Save Match Pass Definition As window
The Save Match Pass Definition As window lets you save a match pass to the repository. - QualityStage Match Designer: Weight Comparison window
The Weight Comparison window displays the individual column scores that contribute to the composite weight for each record. A summary of the match pass definition is displayed first, followed by the comparison results for the selected records. - QualityStage Match Designer: Weight Overrides window
The Weight Overrides window lets you change the calculated weights for missing value situations or for specific combinations of values for a particular match command. - QualityStage Match Designer Search Data window
The Search Data window lets you find data strings in the Test Results table after you have tested a match pass. - QualityStage Match Designer: Variable Special Handling window
The Variable Special Handling window lets you assign special treatment to a column. This treatment applies to all passes for this match job. - QualityStage Match Designer: Input Columns window
Use the Input Columns window to load table definitions for the data and reference sources. Once loaded, you can view basic attributes such as SQL type, length, and nullability for each column. Table definitions must be loaded before you can define match commands and blocking columns, which are the basic components of a working match pass. - QualityStage Match Designer Column Details window
The Column Details window provides frequency information and column metadata for a selected data source or reference source column. - QualityStage Match Designer: Manage Groups window
The Manage Groups window lets you add or remove a group, which is composed of a set of match fields. - QualityStage Match Designer: Manage Group Types window
The Manage Group Types window lets you define how to treat a pair of records by specifying a disposition and threshold. You can also remove an existing group type. - QualityStage Match Designer: Default Handling for Missing Weights window
The Default Handling for Missing Weights window lets you set the default score for a field when one or both values are missing in a computation.
