Repairing reports with missing artifact types or parameters

You can now replace missing or renamed artifact types or parameters from other IBM® Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) applications in Report Builder.

Problem

Reports created in Report Builder that include custom artifact types from other IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) applications cannot be run or saved after editing, if the artifact types are renamed or removed in the corresponding ELM applications.

Solution

Perform the following steps if an error message indicating missing artifact types or parameters is displayed when you edit a report:
  1. Click the trace relationships link on the error message.
  2. Optional: In the "Trace relationships and add artifacts" section, hover over the warning icon Warning alert icon that appears over the missing artifact to view more information.
  3. Click the warning icon and select another artifact.
    Note: You can alternatively remove the missing artifact by clicking the cross icon Remove icon on the artifact.

  4. Check and resolve any other issues displayed in the “Set conditions” section and "Format results" page. The conditions and report result columns with issues are indicated by a warning icon Warning alert icon.
  5. You can successfully save the report after you resolve all issues.
