You can export the details of a test-artifact list view to a comma-separated values (CSV)
file.
Before you begin
To complete this task, you must have the Export to CSV permission.
About this task
These test-artifact list views include the option to export the view to a CSV file:
- Test Plans
- Test Cases
- Test Suites
- Test Scripts
- Test Case Execution Records
- Test Suite Execution Records
- Test Case Results
- Test Suite Results
- Build Records
- Execution Schedules
- Keywords
The CSV file contains data from all columns and rows in the list view. Selecting specific rows
or hiding columns does not affect the exported data. The exported file also contains data from all
pages of the list view. If you link files on the Engineering Workflow Management repository
to any test artifact, the linked file information is also displayed in the exported CSV file.
Note: Any value beginning with a ‘=’, ‘@’, ‘+’, or ‘-’ character is interpreted by the spreadsheet
software as a formula. This poses a risk of malicious formula injection. To avoid this
vulnerability, an open quotation mark is added to these characters. This ensures that there is no
possibility of a formula injection attack.
Procedure
- Open the Browse page for the test artifact to export. For example,
to open the Browse page for test plans, click
.
-
You can also sort or filter the data in the list view.
The sorted or filtered data is reflected in the exported CSV file.
-
To export all artifacts to a CSV file, click Export as Spreadsheet (CSV)
icon in the table header. Click Export All
Pages.
The
Manage Print Job Queue page opens, displaying the export status of
the CSV file. By default, the page is updated every 4 seconds.
Tip: The CSV file name in the Manage Print Job Queue depends on the view from which you
export it. For example, a test suite file is named Test Suite.csv.
- When the job is marked complete, click the job name to download the CSV
file.
What to do next
You can use a spreadsheet editor or a text editor to view the contents of the new CSV
file.
