Comparing and merging test artifacts
You can compare test artifacts to identify differences
between them. For example, you can compare a test artifact with an
earlier version in its history or with a version in a parallel development
stream. When you compare artifacts, you can see changes across configurations
and review the scope and nature of any changes. When you compare a
stream with a baseline, you can choose to edit or automatically merge
changes from the compared source to the target test artifacts.
Compare and merge operations for test artifacts
In projects that are enabled for configuration management, you can compare your current configuration with another configuration. You can also compare test artifacts within the same configuration. For artifact types that show differences in the compare session, you can open a detailed comparison editor to view differences between two versions of a test artifact.
Viewing artifact versions in graphs
Show a graphical view of the versions of an artifact to understand and explore which configurations contain a version of it, who created each version, and when it was created. You can also see how changes among versions are merged across configurations.
Comparing and merging versions of artifacts
From the graphical view that shows the versions of an artifact, you can compare two versions, and merge changes among versions.
Comparing configurations in the QM application
In the Quality Management (QM) application, you can compare the currently selected configuration to another configuration in the project. This comparison provides a summary of test artifacts that have changed and gives you the option to merge differences between configurations.
Merging configurations in the QM application
In the Quality Management (QM) application, you can merge test artifacts from baselines to streams. Streams are configurations that can change, whereas baselines are configurations that do not. You can merge content from a static baseline to a stream to incorporate changes that were made in another version or variant of your test assets.
Markup for comparing configurations in the QM application
When you compare two versions of a test artifact in the detailed comparison editor, differences are decorated with various forms of markup.
