Viewing and managing local configurations in ELM applications

Managing configurations in the Quality Management (QM) and Requirements Management (RM) applications in IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) includes creating streams and baselines for teams, managing change sets (RM only) and delivering changes to different streams, and archiving configurations when teams no longer work on them.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that you are familiar with project areas, components (if supported), baselines, streams, and change sets (if supported).
  • Configuration management capabilities must be enabled for the project.

About this task

To complete configuration administration tasks, click AdministrationAdministration menu > Manage Components and Configurations.

Although the Architecture Management (AM) application and the source control management (SCM) feature in the Change and Configuration Management (CCM) application use similar terminology (such as workspaces, streams, baselines, components, and change sets) for tasks related to managing its source code artifacts, the meanings differ from other ELM applications. For information specific to the CCM application, see these topics:

What to do next

When you finish your administrative tasks, to return to the project dashboard, click Home Menu Home Menu and select a project. By default, the configuration context is set to the configuration that you used most recently.
