Enabling audit service

The audit service is being introduced for customers who are required to comply with new Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements.

Before you begin

Before you enable the audit service, make sure that all functions that are reserved for JazzAdmins users are logged. You cannot modify the resulting audit files from the user.

About this task

Each application has its own instance of the audit feature, so audit logs are created per application. The audit feature must be enabled in each app that the user wants to audit. Most logs are in the logs directory. However, the directory audit is separately created to allow the user to place their own file system restrictions on that directory and prevent modification of the logs. A log is created each day, enabling the user to set up their own method for backing up those files daily to other storage.

Procedure

  1. Go to https://hostname:port/rm/admin. Change rm for any other CLM app like qm, am, etc.
  2. Go to Server > Advanced Properties.
  3. In the service com.ibm.team.repository.service.audit.AuditService, add the character * in the Current Value field and click Save.
  4. Go to Audit Rest Service by using https://hostname:port/rm/audit.
  5. In the name column, click files. The following log table displays.
  6. From the view column of the log table, click view against the log of which you want to see the details.
