Monitoring and releasing floating client access licenses

You can monitor floating client access license usage through the Administration page of the Jazz® Team Server and if necessary, release a license so that it is available for another user.

Before you begin

You must be logged on to the administrative web interface and be a member of the JazzAdmins group.

Procedure

To monitor floating license usage, use any of the following three methods:

  • To view a report of floating license usage comparison, license usage, and license denials:
    1. Click the Server tab.
    2. In the Licensing pane, click Reports.
    3. On the Floating License Usage page, select a license type from the menu.
    4. Enter values in the Start date and End date fields.
    5. Click Show Reports.
  • To view a list of issued client access licenses on all servers that point to the floating license server:
    1. Click the Server tab.
    2. In the Licensing pane, click Issued Leases.
    3. On the Issued Floating License Leases page, select a license type from the menu.
  • To view a list of issued client access licenses on the current license server:
    1. Click the Users tab and then select Acquired Floating Licenses.
  • To release a floating license so that it is available for another user:
    1. Click the Users tab and then select Acquired Floating Licenses.
    2. On the Acquired Floating License page, hover over the license and click the X icon to terminate the lease.
    3. When you see the Terminate Lease confirmation window, click Terminate.
