Enabling distributed source control

You can use the Administration page in the web client to enable distributed source control, so that you can deliver changes between repositories. You must enable distributed source control properties on the server for each repository. You must also enable permissions on each project area that governs components that you want to replicate.

Before you begin

You must be logged in to the Administration page of a Change and Configuration Management application that is registered with the Jazz™ Team Server. You must be a member of the JazzAdmins repository permissions group to have administrative access to enable distributed source control.

Procedure

  1. To enable distributed source control:
    1. On the Administration page for the Change and Configuration Management application (not for the Jazz Team Server), click the Application tab.
    2. In the left pane, under Configuration, click Advanced Properties.
    3. On the Advanced Properties page, in the SCM area, set the Enable Distributed SCM property to true.
    4. Click Save.
    5. Repeat step 1 for each server.
  2. To enable replication permissions for the set of roles that are applicable:
    1. On the Administration page, click the Project Areas tab.
    2. On the Active Project Areas page, click the project.
    3. On the Project page, in the left pane, click Permissions.
    4. Click the Show by Operation radio button.
    5. Below Select an action, navigate to the Source Control area and click Replicate change sets.
    6. Below Actions, click the Grant Permission check mark icon for the appropriate role (default is Everyone).
    7. Click Save.
    8. Repeat step 2 for each project area that governs components that you want to replicate.
