You can export the contents of your
report to a new or existing Microsoft Excel
workbook, and then build charts and pivot tables. You choose whether
you want a spreadsheet with static data or live data that you can
refresh when you need to.
Before you begin
- The report widget whose contents you want to export must be on
a Jazz™ dashboard.
- You must have Microsoft Office
version 2010 or later installed.
- Team members who want to use your Microsoft Excel reports must have Microsoft Office version 2010
or later installed.
About this task
You can export your report data to two types of spreadsheets:
- Live data: Select this option for reports that you run regularly, or for reports that you
created pivot tables or charts for. You can refresh the query results from either the
RunQuery worksheet or from your charts or pivot tables. In the spreadsheet
that Report
Builder generates,
follow the instructions on the RunQuery worksheet to create a data source
from the live query.
- Static spreadsheet: Select this option if you do not need to refresh the data, create
charts or pivot tables, or do not need to run again.
For both options, the initial report results are shown on the
QueryResults worksheet in Microsoft Excel.
You can also copy the URL on the RunQuery
worksheet into another Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. You
might do this if your project maintains a collection of frequently run reports for reporting project
status.
Procedure
- From your Jazz dashboard,
in the report widget, click Open in new window.
- In Report
Builder, near the
upper right, click .
- Follow the instructions for the type of spreadsheet you
want to create, and see the instructions for how to refresh the data.
