How can I import data from a file to a relational table?

Follow these steps to import data from a file to a relational table.

Procedure

  1. Select the file you want to use and click Open.

    If your file is not a .csv, select the appropriate format from the File Type drop-down menu. You can upload files which are saved as .csv, . tsv, or .psv.

  2. Click Next.
  3. If your file contains field headings, select the First row contains field names box.
  4. In the Date Field Formatting section, click the Month First option then click Next.
  5. Now, map the fields from the imported file to the new database fields.

    In the Field Type section, choose the appropriate field type for each field you want to map by clicking on their associated drop-down menu such as text, number, date, or segmenting.

    Select the Ignore box next to any field you don't want to import and edit new database field names in the applicable fields.

  6. Click Next.
  7. Review the new contact source information to make sure everything is correct.

    To modify the field type, required settings, or default value settings, click Edit next to the field name.

  8. To review the unique identifier(s) set for the relational table and make any necessary changes, click Edit Unique Identifiers.
  9. Click Save and then click Next.
  10. Click Submit to complete the import of your relational table.
  11. Click the Data Job Id to see if the upload is complete.
  12. Click the Data Job link next to the Name field to open the relational table.

    The relational table is now ready to be associated to a database.
