Assign new values to a custom database or query field

About this task

You can set new values to a custom database or query field from the Database Summary page. However, you must first create a New Values Report to select values from.

Procedure

  1. Open your database.
  2. On the Fields tab, click the Set Field Values button.

    The Set Field Values page displays.

  3. Select a database field from the Select a Contact Source drop-down list.
  4. Set values for the following.
    1. All contacts in the contact source
    2. Only contacts included in the following query
      • Click the Select Query button to choose a query.
      • Reset all values to: Enter the new data you want shown in the field.
    3. Only update contacts who
      • Choose an action: Opened, Clicked, Played Media, Downloaded Attachment, Opted In, Forwarded
      • Click the Select email button to choose an email.
      • Select a date when the last action occurred.
      • Choose to do one of the following.
        • Update field with one of the following: Total Count, First Action, Last Action
        • Reset all values to: Enter a value in this field.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Choose the option if you want an email sent when the job is complete and then click Submit.
