Deploying a CBA to the operational server from the MDM Workbench

To deploy a CBA to the development environment using the MDM Workbench, take the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Ensure that you have generated code for a project after adding it to, or updated it in, the CBA.
  2. Ensure that you have run the SQL scripts in the MDMSharedResources/sql directory that corresponds to your installed database, and that you have restarted the server. For more information, see Running the SQL scripts to prepare for deployment.
  3. In the MDM Workbench, in the Servers view, select to highlight the server to which the InfoSphere® MDM application has been deployed and to which you wish to deploy your extension or addition.
  4. Right click on the server and click Add and Remove to load the Add and Remove wizard.
  5. In the Available column, select the available CBA files that you want to add to the operational server, then click Add to include them in the Configured column, then click Finish.
  6. In the Servers view, right-click on the CBA and click Manage Extensions.
  7. Open the Advanced section at the bottom of the dialog.
  8. Click Get information from server, then select the Business-level application and Composition unit from their respective drop-down boxes.
    • The business-level application will have whatever name you chose when deploying the operational server
    • The Composition unit will be the application .eba file; for example, com.ibm.mdm.server.app_0001.eba
  9. Click Finish. Wait for the operation to complete. This may take several minutes.
