ITKBDATA control statement

Specifies the type of additional data to store in the IMS Tools Knowledge Base repository.

This control statement is effective only when ITKBSRVR=servername is specified.

This control statement is optional. The default is ITKBDATA=*NO, which means the utility stores no utility history data in the IMS Tools Knowledge Base repository.

ITKBDATA=UTILHIST specifies to store the utility history member for the Smart Reorg job in the IMS Tools KB Sensor Data repository. The stored utility history member contains the reorganization timestamp, which indicates the time when the database or the HALDB partitions were reorganized. Utility history members are not created for indexes and PSINDEX partitions.

If you use the rule IBM®.LAST_REORG.10, which is for evaluating the number of days that have elapsed since the last reorganization, the utility refers to the timestamp that is stored in the IMS Tools KB repository. Therefore, when you use the rule IBM.LAST_REORG.10, you must also specify ITKBDATA=UTILHIST. For a use case scenario, see Example 14: Conditional reorganization based on the number of days since the last reorganization.

To learn more about utility history, see the topic "Utility history environment" in the IMS Tools Base IMS Tools Knowledge Base User's Guide and Reference.

Notes:
  • If NAMESWAP=NO is specified, the ITKBDATA=UTILHIST control statement is ignored.
  • If you are using the Pre-reorganization utility and the Post-reorganization utility, you can store the utility history data by specifying the ITKBDATA=UTILHIST control statement in the HPSIN data set for the Pre-reorganization utility. The utility history member is created during the Post-reorganization utility job step.
Tip: You can change the default value of this control statement by creating an Installation Default Option Table (HPSCOPTI). For more information, see Setting installation default options.
