Add an Exception Dimension

Your cube may also include a special measure dimension called an exception dimension. An exception dimension contains ranges for a measure critical to your business. For example, if your most important measure is Gross Margin %, your administrator can add a dimension with categories such as Greater than 50%, and 50% or Less.

Try This

To add the exception dimension categories you want to compare:

Steps
  1. In the dimension viewer, select Margin Ranges.

  2. Click the Next Level Children button .

This selection indicates you want to show the next level of categories for Margin Ranges.

  3. Click the Add as Rows button .

The next level of categories for Margin Ranges appears in the row area.

  4. Select Locations.

  5. Click the Add as Layers button .

  6. Double-click the Locations layer label to drill down to the next level of detail.

  7. Scroll through the layers to see how much revenue each margin range generated.
