Deploying on Red Hat OpenShift

Learn about the deployment scenarios supported on Red Hat OpenShift.

Note: The current version of Netcool® Operations Insight® is compatible with Red Hat OpenShift version 4.4.3 and 4.3, and all of the documentation links point to that version of the Red Hat OpenShift documentation: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/openshift_container_platform/4.4/external link

You can install a full deployment of Netcool Operations Insight on Red Hat OpenShift. For more information, see Installing on Red Hat OpenShift only.

You can also install a hybrid deployment of Netcool Operations Insight, with some components on-premises, and some components on Red Hat OpenShift. Configure a new or existing on-premises installation of Operations Management with cloud native Netcool Operations Insight components on Red Hat OpenShift. For more information, see Deploying on a hybrid architecture.

Note: Integration with on-premises IBM Agile Service Manager is not supported for hybrid deployments.

Netcool Operations Insight on OpenShift is supported on the same platforms that Red Hat OpenShift supports. For more information, see https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.4/welcome/index.html#cluster-installer-activities.

A Netcool Operations Insight on OpenShift deployment is also supported on the following platforms:
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Microsoft Azure
  • RedHat OpenShift Kubernetes Service (ROKS)
Note: When you deploy on Red Hat OpenShift, use the oc command line tool. If you install in an environment where oc isn’t available, replace it with the kubectl command line tool.
