If you are running the desktop client on Linux, or you want to view the online help
with some browser other than Internet Explorer on Windows, you must specify to the portal server the
location of the browser you want to use.
Windows: Specifying the browser location
Use the Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services utility
to change the location of the browser that the browser or desktop
client uses.
UNIX and Linux: Specifying the browser location
To change a property such as the location of the Web browser
that the Tivoli Enterprise Portal browser
client launches in UNIX, update
the shell script file or files that are run and the template that
is used when the browser client is configured to create the script
file or files that are run.
Web Start: Specifying the browser location
Java™ Web Start deployed
applications are described in jnlp deployment files. For IBM® Tivoli Monitoring,
there is one deployment file that describes the core Tivoli Enterprise Portal framework
component and associated JAR files, and one deployment file for each
and every Tivoli Enterprise Portal-based
monitoring solution that is installed.
