Adding an Agent to Administration and Reporting Tool

About this task

To add, an agent in License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool perform the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Make sure that the Agent is running.
  2. Only Agent 8165 can be added to License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool 8165.
  3. Agent 8165 cannot be added to License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool 8164 or earlier.
  4. License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool 8165 cannot add Agent 8164 or earlier.
  5. The types of servers that are supported in License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool are as follows:
    • License Key Server: Use this server type for working with an IBM License Key Server.
    • ELM Floating: Use this server type when Reporting is needed for Jazz™ Floating User license usages.
    • ELM (authorized user): Use this server type when Reporting is needed for Jazz Authorized user license usages.
  6. Any server, which is part of the Redundant Server Triad must be added as a single server similar to a stand-alone LKS server. There is no need to add all the three servers together. Hence, the earlier available option of RLKS Redundant has been removed.
  7. There is no need to add the Agent of the Tertiary server of a Redundant Server Triad. Add only the Primary and the secondary servers.
  8. The License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool-Agent communication now uses HTTPS protocol. Hence, specify the HTTPS port while you add the Agent. Earlier, the HTTP port was necessary.
  9. Ensure that the Agent server is reachable from the License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool server. Use the qualified domain name of the Agent host as the preferable hostname when you add the Agent in License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool.
  10. Supply the HTTPS port while you add the Agent in License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool. The default value for this port is 5043. Earlier, Agent used HTTP method for communicating with the License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool.
