Disconnected use mode for home use or travel
If your product uses floating keys, with disconnected use mode, you can use IBM®
Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) or
IBM
Rational® products at home for a three-day
period.
You must activate the disconnected use option within three days after you acquire a floating license key and disconnect from your network at work. After you activate the disconnected use option, you can use the software for three days. Or you can use authorized user keys if these keys are available for your product.
Consider this scenario. You plan to work from home next week, so you acquire a floating
license key for IBM
Rational
ClearCase® at 4 p.m.
on Friday. You disconnect from the network and go home. You must activate for disconnected use
within three days of acquiring the key and disconnecting from the network. If you start Rational ClearCase by 3:30 p.m. on Monday, you can use the
software until 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. If you do not start Rational ClearCase before 4 p.m. on Monday, you cannot use
the software in disconnected use mode.
Note: Disconnected use of floating licenses on a UNIX license server is not supported. If you can use authorized
user keys with your IBM
ELM
or IBM
Rational products, use these keys
instead.
