Viewing the members in a resource group

This example task shows you how to use IBM® CICS Explorer® to view the members in a resource group. You can select each definition in the group and open the definition in its own editor.

Procedure

  1. In the Resource Group Definitions view click the group for which you want to see the members. Select one of the following choices to open the Resource Group Definition editor:
    • Right-click the group name and click Open.
    • Double-click the group name.
The Resource Group Definition editor opens showing the members.
A screen capture showing a Resource Group definition group showing the group members in a tree layout. The tree is expanded to show one File Definition, one IPIC Connection Definition, and one Transaction Definition.
  2. Optional: You can choose to see the properties for the resource group by clicking the Attributes tab.

What to do next

You can select one of the members in the group and double-click, or right-click, to open the definition in its own editor. Alternatively, you can click the twistie in the view breadcrumb trail and choose one of the menu options to install the group in another group, or add the group to a BAS resource description.
Note: It is possible that a member is displayed in the group, but CICS Explorer does not support the resource type. In this case the member will not have an icon next to it, and any actions are disabled.
