Updating resource definitions

You can use CICS Explorer® to update a resource definition in a CICS® Version 4 or later system.

1. Set the context and scope in the CICSplex Explorer view by clicking either a CICSplex (context) or a specific CICS region (scope). If you select a CICSplex, all resources in the CICSplex are displayed. If you select a CICS region, only resources in that region are displayed, and the context is set automatically.
2. Use one of the following methods to display the resource definition view:
   1. If the resource definition view is already visible in the workbench, click the tab for the view to bring it to the foreground.
   2. Click Definitions on the workbench menu bar, and select a view from the list shown.
   3. Click Window > Show View > Other to open the Show View dialog. Click CICSplex Repositories, select the view from the list presented, then click OK.
   4. If the resource view is a fast view, click the icon for the view in the shortcut bar to restore it to the workbench.
3. Locate the specific resource definition you want to update. You can narrow the list in the view by entering the name of the resource definition in the Name filter field, or scroll down the view to the required resource definition.
4. Right-click the resource definition, then click Open.
   The selected resource definition is opened in the editor and you can change it as required.
5. When your updates are complete, click the Save icon on the workbench toolbar.
