Can you use the Deployment Wizard to test SSL sessions?
Yes. The first time you configure the SSL session and connect
to the host, the connection fails. To continue, do the following:
Select Communication > Security.
Extract this certificate in the *.arm file.
Using the certificate utility, import this certificate into the
p12 file (if no p12 file exists, create one).
You should be able to connect to the host.
Can you gather and zip imp files?
Yes. You can gather files by using the Information Bundler tool.
To access the Information Bundler, Select Start > IBM Rational Host On-Demand > Administration > Information Bundler.
Can you copy the HTML files when migrating from older versions
of Host On-Demand ?
Yes. Most HTML files created with earlier versions of the Deployment
Wizard will work with V12.
If you experience any problems with a page, you should edit custom
HTML files with the V12 Deployment
Wizard to pick up any new functions.
Is there a required or minimum version of Java for the Service
Manager and DWUnzip utility for V12?
Yes. For V12,
Java 1.5 is required for both the Service Manager and the DWunzip
utility. For Windows, AIX, UNIX, Linux platforms, ships the JRE used
for the Service Manager and DWunzip utility. For and i5OS, Java 1.5
must be installed on the system. A technote for i5OS when multiple
levels of Java is installed is located at the following link: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21445239.
Can I keep JARs or utilities from an older version of the toolkit,
HACL, or Programmable Host On-Demand?
No, do not mix utilities or JARs from different versions of Host On-Demand.
What can I do to clear up a MD5 signature error when I cache Host On-Demand?
When migrating to a new version of Host On-Demand, do
you need to install each service update?
No, except for server. For you must install the base level first.
Then you can install the latest refresh pack without needing to install
earlier refresh packs. The refresh packs for all other platforms are
full product replacements and the service is cumulative.

Where can I find information on planning and installation?
How can I transfer old keyboard definitions and other user preferences
to a new client server?
Copy the files that are found in c:\Documents and Settings\<userID>\HODObjs on
the client server to the new server.
Can I migrate from an older version like v4 to the latest version?
How do I migrate my users and groups?
Copy over the private data per instructions and be sure to restart
the Service Manager.
How do I migrate my certificates from older version or different
server?
Copy the CustomizedCAs.p12 file from your publish directory to
newer or different server's publish directory (../hostondemand/HOD).
For migration purposes, how are HTML page values used from multiple
HOD servers behind a load balancer?
The version.txt file found in the ../hostondemand/HOD/HODData/<pagename> directory
created with the Deployment Wizard maintains the version of the HTML
file. The file contains one property: "InformationVersion=<value>".
When you create any HTML file, the value of this property is 1. Subsequent
changes to the HTML file increases the value by one. If you create
the same named HTML page on a different server and access it from
the same client through the load balancer, the page will be migrated
if the other server is actually accessed instead of the original.
This is caused by the UID property found in cfgx.df (client side config
file) and cfgx.cf (server side config file) being different. If the
property value is same in both files on the different servers, the
client will not migrate.
If you upgrade a Windows server, for example, from version 2000
to 2003 or 2003 to 2008, will the client reload the cache's client
after Windows is upgraded, assuming the server hostname remains the
same?
The operating system upgrade should retain all installed programs
and can be started once the upgrade is complete. The server should
work without issues as long as the web server on the system starts
and works. The cached client should not reload as long as the hostname
of the server remains the same. and should work the way it did before
the upgrade.
