Trackable item support
The Transaction Server contains database support that can be used for tracking the status of any type of item.
This support can include tracking certain transmissions that are expected to be received or transmissions that must be sent. The Transaction Server can be used to record the details of these trackable items.
In addition to recording the items to be tracked, the Transaction Server can issue alerts when expected items become overdue or items that are sent become late. It can also optionally attach the items to a business day within the Transaction Server so that the item status acts as a prerequisite for posting end-of-day for that business day. For example, the business day allows end-of-day to run only when the item is received or sent as expected.
To enable much of the trackable item operation, the Transaction Server must be configured correctly. The support for detecting items that are overdue or late requires configuration. The various attributes of a trackable are described in the following sections.
