Manually Running Entry Allocation
If necessary, the entry allocation task can be run manually. For example, the task may need to be run manually if entry allocation failed during a prior run.
The ID of the work in progress (WIP) record for the failing entry allocation run must be
specified when the task is run manually. Table 1 shows the parameters for the entry
allocation task when it is run manually:
Parameter name | Required | Description |
---|---|---|
Work-in-progress identifier (WIP id) | Yes | The ID of the work in progress record on which to perform entry allocation. By default, the task returns an error if the specified work in progress record is already in the complete state. |
Force rerun of ‘Completed’ WIP id | No | Indicates if entry allocation is performed on a work in progress record that
has completed successfully. Because the previously assigned entry number is removed and a new entry
number is assigned, carefully consider whether to enable forced entry allocation for the work in
progress record. Setting this parameter to yes or true forces entry allocation to run. Leave it blank or set it to no or false to not force entry allocation to run. |
To manually run the entry allocation task, use the run task operation page in Services Framework. Enter the parameters on the page and click Run Task.
