Insight Monitor shows event rates, memory
utilization, and processor utilization on runtime servers.
About this task
You must configure your topology to enable the adminCenter feature
and secure a login for each user of the Liberty Admin Center. The web-based graphical interface
gives an authorized user access to Insight Monitor and the Explore tool. You can use the
Explore tool to view the deployed solutions, but it cannot be used to deploy them.
Enabling Insight Monitor Insight Monitor can be enabled on
runtime servers or in a collective controller. You must add the features to the
server.xml files and configure secured communication between the servers in
your topology.
Enabling system monitoring
The propertyManager set command is used to enable system monitoring.
You can configure what warning types are monitored, and set the size of the cache used to store the
warnings.
Getting warnings and listening for new system messages
Use the SystemMonitorMXBean API to get a list of warning messages that
are collected by a runtime server, as well as to clear the collected warnings on the server, or to
set a listener to get notified whenever a warning message is collected.
Opening Insight Monitor Insight Monitor is available in
the Liberty Administrative Center (Admin Center). Enter the URL in a browser to access the Liberty
Admin Center welcome page and open Insight Monitor.
Viewing the performance of running servers
As an administrator, use Insight Monitor to check that your servers are running
as you expect. Insight Monitor provides
information useful to troubleshoot your cluster.
