Manual deployment from Rule Designer

You can export a ruleset archive or deploy a RuleApp project.

About this task

Rule Designer offers two ways to deploy embedded rules back to their production environment.

Note:

When you create a RuleApp, you must ensure that the RuleApp name and ruleset name, together with the versions used for each, are consistent with the ruleset path that is used to identify the ruleset by the host application. Failure to do so prevents the new ruleset from being found at run time.

Procedure

To export a ruleset archive in Rule Designer:
1. Export your embedded rules as a ruleset archive.
2. Deploy the ruleset archive to your Java SE environment, or add the archive to a RuleApp project.
To deploy your rules in Rule Designer
1. Create a RuleApp project.
2. Add your rule project to the RuleApp project.
3. Deploy the RuleApp archive to Rule Execution Server.
You can use a Rule Execution Server configuration project to store server instances, which you can then select when you deploy your RuleApps.
Note:
The managed Java XOM is deployed by default. If you do not want to deploy the Java XOM, you must clear the deployment check box in the Deploy RuleApp Archive window.
