Rule Execution Server configurations

A Rule Execution Server configuration stores the URL, login, and password for Rule Designer to connect to Rule Execution Server when you deploy a RuleApp.

Rule Execution Server provides a runtime execution environment that integrates the rule engine in the Java™ SE and Java EE environments so that you can dynamically change business logic by using rules.

A Rule Execution Server configuration defines how to connect to a specific instance of Rule Execution Server or zRule Execution Server for z/OS®. The configuration provides the information that Rule Designer needs to connect to Rule Execution Server when you deploy a RuleApp: a configuration consists of a URL, a login, and a password from which Rule Execution Server establishes a connection ID. The configuration is stored in a Rule Execution Server configuration project.

You can deploy RuleApps in the following ways:
  • From a RuleApp project to one or more Rule Execution Server configurations
  • From a Rule Execution Server configuration project, which can store multiple RuleApp projects, to a single Rule Execution Server configuration
