You add an action task to specify rule action statements
to be executed as part of the ruleflow.
About this task
Deprecated feature: Rule Solutions for Office (RSO)
is deprecated in V8.8.1. This feature will be removed in a future
release of the product. See Deprecated features for migration
details.
Action tasks contain rule action statements. You define
the actions of an action task in the same way that you define actions
for action rules. Unlike rule actions, however, action tasks can use
only the action phrases associated with ruleset parameters.
Procedure
To create an action task:
- Add the action task to the ruleflow diagram in one of the
following ways:
Select the node before or after where you want to add an action
task, and then click or . A transition is created between the node you selected
and the new action task.
In the Ruleflow Editor Toolbox, click Action Task,
and then drag the new action task to the diagram. Drop the action
task on a transition to connect it to existing nodes.
- Name the action task in one of the following ways:
Select the action task, and in the Selection Properties pane,
enter a name in the Task Name property field.
Click the arrow icon in the top corner
of the action task box, and then enter a name in the Task
Name field.
- In the Ruleflow Editor, edit the action task in one of
the following ways:
Right-click the action task, and then click Edit
Task.
Double-click the action task.
Select the action task, and then edit the Actions property.
Click the arrow icon in the top corner
of the action task to open the Smart Tag panel, and then click Edit
actions.
In the Actions Editor, enter the actions for the task. For
